Veneta homes and the weather out west
Veneta is a small city surrounded by farmland and wooded hills near Fern Ridge Reservoir. Many homes here sit on bigger lots with room for a large deck, a covered patio or a shop, and plenty of fence line to keep in good shape.
The west side of the valley gets the same long, wet winters as the rest of Lane County, and shaded lots under fir trees stay damp even longer. Moss and rot are the usual problems on older wood decks. When we replace one, we use composite decking that does not rot, and we can add a cover so the boards stay drier.
Inside, we remodel kitchens and bathrooms and build room additions, with one crew handling the framing through the finish. We also replace siding, windows and doors when an exterior has seen too many wet winters, and repair fences and trim after storms.

Do you replace rotted decks in Veneta?
Yes. We tear out the old deck, check what is under it and rebuild with composite or hardwood decking on solid framing.
Can you build a pergola over an existing deck?
In many cases, yes. Billy will look at the existing framing during the free estimate and tell you whether it can carry a pergola or cover.
